Sephyros wins Aaipop der op út.

Sephyros will play at Aaipop 2009.
Sephyros was the winner of the second edition of Aaipop der op út, last Saturday in Hurdegaryp.
This means that Sephyros will play at the Aaipopfestival 2009.
We would like to thank everybody who came to see us for their support, but also the organisation and the bands Jarretank, Kramtried and VanWieren for the great evening and hopefully we will meet each other again soon.

Yn it ramt fan "De ferbining" biede de doarpshuzen allerhanne aktiviteiten oan mei lokale en provinsjale acts! Middeis is yn Hurdegaryp de iepening fan it kulturele seizoen. Jûns fan 20.00 oere ôf is doarpshûs De Schalmei it dekor fan in twadde Aaipop der op út.
Yn syn jacht op nij talint organisearret de Stifting Aaipop dêr in nije edysje fan harren talintenjacht, wêrby trije bands stride sille om in plakje op it Aaipopfestival 2009. De dielnimmers binne Kramtried, Jarretank en Sephyros. De bands Kramtried en Jarretank spylje metal en punkrock. Sephyros spilet yn it gothic-sjenre.

In het kader van "De verbinding" bieden de dorpshuizen allerhande activiteiten aan met lokale en provinciale acts! 's Middags is in Hurdegaryp de opening van het culturele seizoen. 's Avonds vanaf 20.00 uur is dorpshuis De Schalmei het decor van een tweede Aaipop der op út.
Op jacht naar nieuw talent organiseert de Stifting Aaipop daar een nieuwe editie van haar talentenjacht, waar drie bands zullen strijden om in plaats op het Aaipopfestival 2009. De deelnemers zijn Kramtried, Jarretank en Sephyros. De bands Kramtried en Jarretank spelen metal en punkrock. Sephyros speelt in het gothic-genre.
Aaipop der op út is deze maal in samenwerking met het campagneteam fan Praat mar Frysk. De band VanWieren, bekend fan o.a. de nummers "Nim dyn tiid" en "Dûnsje" zal deze avond afsluiten. De avond wordt gepresenteerd door Marijke Roskam en de toegang is GRATIS.

In the evening from 20.00 o'clock townhouse De Schalmei is the stage of a second Aaipop der op út.
In their search for new talent the Stifting Aaipop has organized a new edition of their talenthunt, where three bands will compete for a place on the Aaipopfestival 2009. The contestants are Kramtried, Jarretank en Sephyros. The bands Kramtried en Jarretank play metal en punkrock. Sephyros dwells in the Gothic-genre.
Aaipop der op út this time is a cooperation with the Praat mar Frysk team. The band VanWieren, known for a.o. the songs "Nim dyn tiid" en "Dûnsje" will be the closing act of the evening. The evening will e presented by Marijke Roskam, the entrance is FREE.

As a direct result our show on the 20th of June will not be followed through.

To break the long silence and make sure we do not wait another month to bring you any news, a few newsfacts have been gathered and are presented to you today.

It might be a long time away at the moment, but that gets better everyday: Sephyros is going to play on Friday, September 4th, 2009 (!!) at the Feesttent in Veenwouden (nl) with Action in DC and Up The Irons.
And a little closer in time-space, June 7th in Walhalla, Deventer with Galanor and Wings of Fury.

The Player.
We are pleased to announce Paul Keuning, in some circles also known as Paulus Priest, as our new bass player.
The stand-in has become permanent.
To be truly honest, even we have to admit that his hair is better looking than the man himself. It really is a must see that for yourself. Even should his musical contribution to the band be lousy at best, the looks of the group get a tremendous thrust in the right direction.
We think that the first impression looks very promising and hope we can hold on to Paul for a while.
Wish the guy luck and pray for him, that we be gentle with him; he doesn’t have a clue yet to what he got himself into.

Hear ye, hear ye. For those who were wondering why we are playing concerts without having a bassplayer; for now we have to accept the fact that we simply have not yet found a fresh one, but we have been blessed with a lesser known type of musician: the stand-in bassplayer.
Within the last few weeks our stand-in Paul Keuning did an outstanding job of mastering our songs.
He also turned out to fit perfectly in the band and became a really good friend for all of us.
We want to thank Paul Keuning for jumping in and officially welcome him as our new stand-in bassplayer.
